Abstract

Code for measuring the hydrogen layer masses of white dwarfs using gravitational redshifts. The following notebooks contain the bulk of the analysis: calibration/make_comparison.ipynb contains the code to reproduce Figure 1 survey_data/spydata/assess.ipynb contains the code to reproduce Figure 2 notebooks/relation.ipynb contains the code to reproduce Figures 3-8 The parameters for white dwarfs in the SPY and wide binary samples are summarized in survey_data/spydata/spy.pqt and survey_data/uvesdata/uves.pqt respectively.
