Abstract

L'aspect du sujet abordé dans cette étude. Cette étude a analysé rétrospectivement sur six ans les causes de décès et les caractéristiques des 56 patients décédés dans le service d'urologie du CHU de Libreville, principal centre de référence du Gabon. Ce que cette étude apporte de nouveau. Le taux de mortalité urologique est de 4,4 %. Les cancers représentent près de 70 % des décès, avec l'adénocarcinome prostatique en tête (50 % de tous les décès). Les patients décèdent jeunes (âge moyen 55 ans), souvent avec des comorbidités (HTA/diabète dans 41 % des cas) et dans un tableau d'altération sévère de l'état général (59 %). Seul un patient sur dix avait bénéficié d'une chirurgie d'urgence. Cet article est disponible en intégralité sur Health Sciences and Disease.
