Reanalysis and CMIP6-Derived Annual and Seasonal Means and Trends over the North Atlantic (1940–2024): ERA5, NOAA-20CRv3 and Model Intercomparison Data with GrADS Scripts

Abstract

This repository contains an index file and four directories (ZIP files) comprising software (GrADS scripts) and processed datasets derived from reanalysis products and CMIP6 simulations. The datasets include annual and seasonal means, as well as linear trends over the North Atlantic for the period 1940–2024, based on ERA5, NOAA-20CRv3, and selected CMIP6 model outputs. This version uses CMIP6 ensemble averaging to reduce the influence of internal climate variability and better isolate the forced signal. The dataset complements a previous version (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18641534), which is based on single CMIP6 realizations. These materials were used in the preparation of an article on atmospheric circulation responses to multidecadal thermal regime changes in the North Atlantic.
