Abstract

L'aspect du sujet abordé dans cette étude. Cette étude a analysé les facteurs de risque du RCIU chez 109 nouveau-nés à terme comparés à 215 témoins, recrutés dans trois maternités de Yaoundé, en utilisant une méthodologie cas-témoins avec appariement et analyse multivariée. Ce que cette étude apporte de nouveau. L'incidence du RCIU à Yaoundé atteint 7,4 %. Le risque est multiplié par 37 en cas de grossesse multiple – un effet d'une ampleur rarement rapporté. Le statut d'élève ou étudiante double le risque, reflétant la vulnérabilité sociale. L'obésité maternelle réduit le risque de 62 %, tandis que le paludisme au troisième trimestre apparaît paradoxalement protecteur – un résultat à interpréter avec prudence, possiblement lié à un traitement précoce ou à un effet de sélection.
