Abstract

Ang pag-aaral na ito ay naglayong suriin ang impluwensiya ng Social Networking Sites (SNS) sa kasanayan sa balarila at pagbabaybay sa wikang Filipino ng mga piling mag-aaral sa kolehiyo. Ginamit ang deskriptibo-korelasyonal na disenyo upang matukoy ang antas ng paggamit ng SNS, antas ng kasanayan sa wika, at ugnayan ng dalawang baryabol. Isinagawa ang pananaliksik sa 167 piling mag-aaral mula sa iba’t ibang kurso sa kolehiyo gamit ang stratified random sampling. Ang pangangalap ng datos ay isinagawa sa pamamagitan ng beripikado at balidong talatanungan, samantalang ang pagsusuri ng datos ay ginamitan ng weighted mean at Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. Ipinakita ng mga resulta na ang mga mag-aaral ay may katamtamang antas ng paggamit ng SNS at katamtamang kasanayan sa balarila at pagbabaybay sa wikang Filipino. Natuklasan ding may mahina ngunit makabuluhang ugnayan sa pagitan ng paggamit ng SNS at kasanayan sa wika. Ang Facebook at TikTok ay may bahagyang negatibong impluwensiya sa kasanayan sa balarila, samantalang ang Twitter at YouTube ay may bahagyang positibong impluwensiya sa pagbabaybay. Ipinahihiwatig ng pag-aaral na ang SNS ay may dual na epekto sa wika, maaaring magdulot ng paglihis sa pormal na gamit ng Filipino ngunit maaari ring magsilbing makabuluhang kasangkapan sa pagkatuto kung gagamitin nang wasto. Inirerekomenda ang integrasyon ng digital literacy at mga programang pangwika na gumagamit ng SNS bilang suportang daluyan sa pagtuturo ng wikang Filipino.
