THE ROLE OF DIGITAL PLATFORMS IN DEVELOPING LINGUOCULTURAL COMPETENCE OF B2 LEARNERS

Abstract

The development of linguocultural competence is a fundamental objective of modern foreign language education, particularly at the B2 level, where learners are expected to communicate fluently and appropriately in intercultural contexts. Digital platforms have become an essential component of the educational process, offering access to authentic materials, interactive learning environments, and real-life communication opportunities. This paper examines the role of digital platforms in developing linguocultural competence of B2 learners. It analyzes how learning management systems, online educational platforms, social media, and communication tools contribute to the formation of cultural awareness, pragmatic competence, and intercultural sensitivity. The study emphasizes that the purposeful and systematic use of digital platforms increases learner motivation and facilitates a deeper understanding of cultural norms and values embedded in language use.
