This presentation is part of a three-part webinar series hosted by the Generalist Repository Ecosystem Initiative (GREI), designed to assist scientific researchers in navigating data management and sharing requirements The series provides an introduction to GREI-developed resources that streamline the data-sharing lifecycle, from planning to submission, helping researchers maximize the impact of their work. In this specific session, "Improving Data Sharing with GREI’s Submission Checklist," presenters Jess Herzog (Dryad) and Crystal Steltenpohl (Center for Open Science) introduce the Data Submission Checklist as a comprehensive guide for navigating the requirements of planning, preparing, and publishing FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data. The slides provide a walkthrough of this resource alongside practical user stories that demonstrate real-world applications. Specifically, the presentation features case studies from Troy D. Wood (University at Buffalo), Wendy A. Torrens (University of Nevada, Reno), and John J. Stephen (Northwestern University), offering perspectives on how researchers successfully manage, share, and harmonize data within their respective fields, such as: Open repositories accelerate discovery by making research findings immediately available to the global community Expert curation improves data accessibility, ensuring datasets are properly described, formatted, and easily understandable for reuse Centralized platforms overcome technical barriers, providing a consistent and robust infrastructure for long-term data preservation and access Public sharing fosters accountability and quality in research by allowing peers to scrutinize and validate the underlying data Integration streamlines software preservation and the assignment of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to ensure persistent and reliable citation The session recording is available here: https://youtu.be/njYb-muguhw?si=NwOjy6C7uiewGe9Q

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
