Abstract

Offene Wissenschaft lebt davon, dass Forschungsdaten transparent, frei zugänglich und rechtssicher nachnutzbar sind. Für Mitarbeiter:innen an Hochschulen stellt sich daher zunehmend die Frage, wie sie die von ihnen erstellten, häufig urheberrechtlich geschützten, Werke optimal lizenzieren können. Diese Handreichung bietet eine kompakte Orientierung: Sie erläutert die zentralen Merkmale guter Lizenzen, stellt die wichtigsten offenen Lizenzmodelle für die wissenschaftliche Praxis vor und zeigt auf, welche Überlegungen bei der Auswahl zu berücksichtigen sind. Abschließend werden Empfehlungen gegeben, welche Lizenztypen sich für unterschiedliche Arten von Forschungsergebnissen besonders eignen, mit dem Ziel, eine souveräne und informierte Lizenzierung wissenschaftlicher Werke zu unterstützen.
