Abstract

Según la RAE, esclavo es aquella persona que carece de libertad por estar bajo el dominio de otra. Se trata, por tanto, de una persona que carece de independencia y derechos propios por estar sometido de manera absoluta a la voluntad y el dominio de otra persona que es su dueña, y que puede comprarlo o venderlo como si fuera una mercancía. Es muy difícil precisar desde cuándo existe la esclavitud, sin duda desde la prehistoria, y desde ahí hasta la actualidad. Nunca nos ha abandonado. Y la explicación, aunque inhumana, es bastante sencilla: “ sigue generando riqueza a los poderes políticos, económicos y a las mafias que juegan con la esperanza y los deseos de quienes pretenden conseguir para sí y sus familias una vida mejor.
