Síndrome da mobilidade articular reduzida em diabéticos

Abstract

A descompensação do diabetes (DM) está associada a distúrbios musculoesqueléticos, como a síndrome da mobilidade articular reduzida (SMAR), precursora da redução da mobilidade, indolor e não inflamatória das articulações das mãos, pés e grandes articulações. Objetivou-se analisar as possíveis causas da SMAR em DM e as recomendações para o tratamento e prevenção. A metodologia foi a análise bibliográfica de artigos nas bases de dados relacionadas com Google Acadêmico, Scielo, BVS Ministério da Saúde, Pubmed, Organização Mundial da Saúde, Sociedade Brasileira de Diabetes e Federação Internacional de Diabetes. A SMAR é consequência de alterações bioquímicas negativas, como a disfunção do colágeno presente nas articulações que levam à fraqueza, que, consequentemente, reduz a força de preensão e a mobilidade articular. Não há comprovações científicas claras relacionadas ao tratamento da SMAR. A redução da mobilidade articular é um processo natural do envelhecimento, acelerado pelo DM descontrolado.
