Spirituality and Mental Health of Christians in the Contemporary Digital World

Abstract

Digital media technology has become a part of the daily Christian lives, filling a significant portion of the productive minutes and hours of daily lives. Science has acknowledged that technology use is changing how the brain functions and thus, impacting on the mental health as Christians. Digitalization use emboldens bad habits that disturb focus and productivity. Thus, this paper examines how digitalization has influenced the spirituality and mental health of Christians. Digitalization serves as a dual-force catalyst in the sphere of psychological sciences, presenting a range of matchless prospects and substantial constrains. The technological development required for improving mental health conditions transcending geographical and temporal constraints also contributes to the incidence of psychological phenomena that can adversely impact mental health. This overview explores the intricate connection shared between digitalization and mental health of Christians, investigating the problems posed by the digital space on mental well-being while accentuating the potential of digital platforms to tackle mental health problems and improve general well-being of Christians. The study employed descriptive design for the study of on Spirituality, Mental health and the Contemporary digital World with scholars to elicit perspectives to determine if something can be done to tame the tide of many untoward incidences that have plagued the Mental health of Christians. The outcome of the study is indicative that digital media technology can be rechannelled to produce better Christian society.
