Abstract

Las escritoras del ámbito hispánico han encontrado en el ojo y sus desvíos un nuevo lugar de acción para la resistencia feminista. Al calor del tsunami que ha irrumpido en la literatura del siglo XXI escrita por mujeres, es de vital importancia preguntarse por los nodos temáticos e ideológicos en torno a los que han orbitado sus obras. Entre ellos destaca la confluencia de un conjunto de textos cuya temática gira alrededor de las enfermedades oculares o deficiencias visuales, de manera que cabe cuestionarse si existe algún nexo entre la atención a los estadios intermedios de la visión y la ceguera y la perspectiva de género.En un contexto de crítica al ocularcentrimo acentuada por el giro visual de la contemporaneidad, y a partir de un corpus literario transatlántico de factura reciente, este ensayo muestra cómo la matriz sociocultural ocularcéntrica, patriarcal y capacitista que sostiene la epistemología occidental se ha visto amenazada por el ojo desviado y enfermo que, en consecuencia, se atreve a mirar distinto. Situado en la encrucijada entre los estudios de género, el giro corporal, los estudios de la discapacidad y la teoría y la crítica literarias, el volumen se afana en subrayar, frente a esa ceguera absoluta y venerable de los poetas ciegos, el potencial creativo y el poder simbólico de la casi ceguera desde su compromiso feminista y anticapacitista.
