This dataset includes the original data that was used in the paper "UAV-based soil erosion assessment in Mediterranean agricul-tural orchards". The following text explains the contents per sub-map: DTM: Digital terrain models derived from the drone surveys. Files are named as date-area-DTM, where "date" equals the date of the drone survey, and "area" equals the study area. ORTHO: Orthomosaics derived from the drone surveys. Files are named as date-area-ORTHO, where "date" equals the date of the drone survey, and "area" equals the study area. Accuracy assesment: contains data concerning the accuracy assesment of the DTMs, including: number of control points used in the alignment process, residual error of the photogrammetry workflow, RMSE values of GPS transects vs DTM, calculation of 95% LoD assuming similar errors and no error in 2024 DTM. Erosion: contains the following data regarding the erosion measurements: erosion measured in the sediment plots, comparison of erosion estimated through the DTMs and measured erosion, including analysis using Nearing's method. Precipitation: contains rainfall data for the study period for the three rainfall stations that were installed in the study areas (FEA, MOO, VFO) Soil surface roughness: contains data regarding soil surface roughness, including: Random roughness as calculated from the DTMs for both 2024 and 2025 per plot, Treatment of each plot, Difference of Random rougness between 2024 and 2025. Vegatiation cover: contains data regarding the vegetation cover of each study area per plot as derived from the orthomosaics using the VARI index. Included are plot number, treatment, vegetation cover for both 2024 and 2025. Note: for the olive orchards (MOO, VFO), canopy cover is included seperately.
