
Este Trabajo Fin de Máster analiza el papel de la cultura dominicana como herramienta de soft power en el escenario internacional, centrándose en las estrategias de expansión cultural e influencia global en el contexto del auge contemporáneo de la cultura hispana. La investigación examina la relación entre producción cultural, migración, diplomacia cultural y políticas públicas, atendiendo a los procesos de construcción de narrativas internacionales e imagen país. Desde un enfoque cualitativo e interdisciplinar, el estudio se apoya en los estudios culturales, los estudios migratorios y las relaciones internacionales para analizar iniciativas institucionales, políticas culturales y dinámicas culturales transnacionales que vinculan a la República Dominicana con su diáspora, especialmente en España. La investigación pone de relieve el potencial estratégico de la cultura como mecanismo de proyección internacional, cohesión social e influencia simbólica, contribuyendo a los debates actuales sobre soft power, diplomacia cultural y migración en América Latina y el Caribe.
This Master’s thesis analyzes the role of Dominican culture as a tool of soft power in the international arena, focusing on strategies of cultural expansion and global influence within the context of the contemporary Hispanic cultural boom. The research explores the relationship between cultural production, migration, cultural diplomacy and public policy, examining how cultural practices contribute to the construction of international narratives and national image. Through a qualitative and interdisciplinary approach, the study draws on cultural studies, migration studies and international relations to analyze institutional initiatives, cultural policies and transnational cultural dynamics linking the Dominican Republic with its diaspora, particularly in Spain. The thesis highlights the strategic potential of culture as a mechanism for international projection, social cohesion and symbolic influence, contributing to current debates on soft power, cultural diplomacy and migration in Latin America and the Caribbean.
