
🇵🇹 Português Esta dissertação de mestrado analisa a situação da gestão de resÃduos sólidos no bairro suburbano de Chipangara, na cidade da Beira, Moçambique. O estudo avalia as práticas existentes, os desafios institucionais, técnicos e comunitários, bem como as oportunidades para a melhoria do sistema de gestão de resÃduos. Com base em dados de campo e análise documental, é apresentada uma proposta de modelo de gestão de resÃduos sólidos adaptada ao contexto local, visando a sustentabilidade ambiental, a saúde pública e a participação comunitária. 🇬🇧 English This master’s dissertation analyses the solid waste management situation in the suburban neighbourhood of Chipangara, in the city of Beira, Mozambique. The study assesses existing practices, institutional, technical and community challenges, as well as opportunities for improving the waste management system. Based on field data and document analysis, the research proposes a context-specific solid waste management model aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability, public health and community participation.
