Fields of plastic: Tracking the growing footprint of agricultural plastics using remote sensing in California

Abstract

This repository contains the following data related to the research article titled Fields of plastic: Tracking the growing footprint of agricultural plastics using remote sensing in California. These data are available for use by other groups aiming to track and monitor the impact of field plastics in the state or globally. Training dataset: table containing the labeled reference points used to train our model (csv table format) Resulting field plastic classifications for water year 2024 in our three counties of interest (zipped shapefile format) The field 'Class' contains the plastic class result for a given field polygon. 0 = other, 1 = hoop house, 2 = plastic mulch. Scripts related to this publication are available on github. (link to be added soon).
