Abstract

This paper explores the critical role of professional standards in advancing teacher competencies, with particular emphasis on research capabilities and pedagogical excellence. Drawing from international frameworks and recent educational reforms, the study examines how standardized competency models can strengthen teacher preparation and professional development. The analysis encompasses successful models from multiple countries, providing insights for developing robust national standards that integrate research competence as a fundamental component of teacher professionalism.
