
Vocabulary control is used for effective search results in information retrieval systems. Indexing entries such as KWIC,KWOC etc. are based on the use of natural language, thus, they are kept under an independent indexing method, whereas in controlled vocabulary, problems of natural language syntax and semantics are solved.
