PC ABS and PETG multi-material laminates fabricated by automated filament switching (Tensile, Impact, Hardness, Bending Test Datasets)

Abstract

Description This dataset provides the raw and processed mechanical testing data for multi-material laminate structures fabricated using Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) with automated filament switching. The research investigates the mechanical synergy and interfacial bonding between Polycarbonate/Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (PC-ABS) and Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol (PETG) in layered configurations. The dataset is organized into two primary categories reflecting the mechanical characterization performed on the composite (COMP) and pure material specimens: Tensile Test Dataset This folder contains stress-strain data and peak load results for specimens tested under uniaxial tension to evaluate the tensile strength, Young's modulus, and elongation at break. PETG: Baseline tensile data for pure PETG specimens. PC_ABS: Baseline tensile data for pure PC-ABS specimens. COMP: Tensile performance data for the multi-material laminates (laminated PC-ABS/PETG). Bending Test Dataset This folder contains the three-point bending test results used to determine the flexural strength and modulus of the specimens, as well as to observe delamination behavior between the printed layers. COMP_Bending results: Flexural data for the multi-material laminate specimens. PC_Bending results: Baseline flexural data for pure PC-ABS. PETG_Bending results: Baseline flexural data for pure PETG. Technical Specifications Manufacturing Method: Material Extrusion (MEX) / Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF). Equipment: 3D printer equipped with automated filament switching (e.g., Bambu Lab X1 Carbon or similar). Data Format: .csv / .xlsx (Spreadsheet format for stress-strain curves).
