
Australocelis gen. nov. ZooBank: urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act: F7981ACF-5D60-4882-AB24-29FD221DFCEA Diagnosis. Cnidarian-eating Archimonocelididae with a pair of narrow, elongate seminal vesicles, opening separately into the small globular prostate vesicle at its ventral side. The stylet is a straight tube with a flaring base and an oblique terminal opening. With straight spines, in groups differing in morphology, and with poorly developed or absent hooks and apophyses, arranged symmetrically on both sides of the stylet. Ovaria close to pharynx; vitellaria posterior to ovaries. Without bursa or vagina. Type species: Australocelis newmanae sp. nov. Etymology. The prefix is coined on Australia, where the two species attributed to the genus have been found.
