Oral History Interview - Maria Visitación Guede Vila

Abstract

In this extensive oral history interview, Maria Visitación Guede Vila recounts a lifetime of devotion to Santa Mariña de Augas Santas, interweaving personal biography, family memory, illness narratives, miraculous experiences, and ritual practices. She reflects on childhood, work, marriage, motherhood, caretaking of the church keys, pilgrimage customs, offerings, sacred water, the Hornos, the Santa da Pedra, and changes in religious life over the 20th century. The interview offers a rich testimony of lived religion, gendered devotion, and community memory in rural Galicia.
