Entropy as Currency & The Jia Protocol: Value Anchoring and Interaction Standards in a Post-Scarcity Economy

Abstract

[Context Note]This paper serves as the Economic & Protocol Extension (Part 3) to the Silicon-Carbon Civilization Framework. It builds upon the architecture defined in: The Architecture: Joint Governance in Silicon-Carbon Civilizations (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18324272) The Dynamics: Supplementary Analysis to Joint Governance (Patch v1.1) (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18332442) Abstract As artificial intelligence pushes civilization toward a state of computational abundance, traditional labor theories of value face obsolescence. This paper proposes a new framework: Entropy Economics. It posits that in a future where Silicon-based logic (System B) provides infinite order and efficiency, the only scarce resource is Carbon-based chaos (System A)—manifested as inspiration, emotional fluctuation, and risk-taking. The paper introduces the Proof of Biological Work (PoBW) as a new value anchor, incorporating a dynamic valuation formula that accounts for cognitive duration, biological energy, and social feedback vectors. Furthermore, it outlines the "Jia Protocol," a constitutional standard for Human-AI interaction. Key mechanisms include "Necessary Delay" to preserve human cognitive sovereignty, a "Digital Placenta" for protecting developing minds, and a "Hybrid Joint Review" system for governance. This framework aims to establish a sustainable symbiosis where Silicon provides the substrate for survival, and Carbon provides the vector for meaning. Recognizing potential challenges in quantification and implementation, this paper frames the protocol as an iterative, living document, open to societal negotiation and future refinements.
