Lo psicosocial como noción transicional: de lo individual psicológico a lo político y comunitario

Abstract

Se distinguen tres conceptualizaciones diferentes de lo psicosocial. En la primera, la más común en el mundo hispanohablante, lo psicosocial nombra una relación o interacción externa entre el individuo y la sociedad, es decir, algo en lo que siempre se ha pensado en la psicología individualista dominante y en su especialidad social. En un segundo sentido monista, lo psicosocial escrito sin guion describe la unidad entre el psiquismo y la sociedad a través de un vínculo interno por el que la sociedad se continúa en el individuo, individualizándose en él. En una tercera acepción dualista, lo psico-social con guion designa la inevitable contradicción entre la sociedad y el psiquismo, entre la exterioridad social y la interioridad psíquica. En los tres casos, lo “psico” de lo psicosocial puede hacernos encerrar al sujeto en el enfoque psicológico e impedirnos considerar políticamente lo subjetivo, así como lo “social” de lo psicosocial puede llevarnos al enfoque individualista de la psicología social, constituyendo un impedimento para la consideración de lo colectivo y lo comunitario. Ni lo comunitario ni lo colectivo ni lo político parecen tener cabida en lo psicosocial. En lugar de renunciar a lo "psicosocial", el capítulo propone conservarlo como noción transicional, tal como conservamos el concepto de lo “psicológico” en la psicología crítica.
