INTELIGÊNCIA ARTIFICIAL NO DRUG DESIGN: REVOLUÇÃO NA DESCOBERTA DE MEDICAMENTOS E NA SIMULAÇÃO DE INTERAÇÕES MOLECULARES

Abstract

A Inteligência Artificial (IA) tem promovido uma transformação paradigmática no drug design, consolidando-se, na atualidade, como uma ferramenta essencial para a descoberta e o desenvolvimento de novos medicamentos. A integração de grandes volumes de dados, algoritmos avançados e elevado poder computacional tem possibilitado a aceleração dos processos de pesquisa, o aumento da precisão das previsões e a redução significativa dos custos associados à pesquisa farmacêutica. Apesar dos avanços expressivos, persistem desafios relacionados à qualidade dos dados, à interpretabilidade dos modelos e às questões éticas envolvidas no uso de sistemas automatizados na tomada de decisões científicas. Ainda assim, as evidências indicam que a IA não apenas complementa, mas redefine as abordagens tradicionais do desenvolvimento de fármacos, apontando para um futuro mais ágil, eficiente e personalizado na terapia medicamentosa.
