Time series of all variables extracted in the 2D photospheric plane from a 3D MHD simulation of an emerging flux rope

Time series of all variables extracted in the 2D photospheric plane from a 3D MHD simulation of an emerging flux rope

Abstract

Data extracted at dt=0.25 intervals from the ground truth simulation used as input to the data-driven simulation described in Tarr+2026 ApJ (ApJ DOI: https://doi.org/10.3847/1538-4357/ae40f4, arxiv DOI: https://doi.org/10.48550/arXiv.2601.09804). Data files are distributed in hdf5 format (*.h5 extension) and are packaged in sets of 100 files in zip archive, corresponding to times t=0.0-24.75, 25.0-49.75, etc. The ground truth simulation corresponds to the theta=pi case from Leake+2022 ApJ 934,10 (doi.org/10.3847/1538-4357/ac74b7). Variables are extracted from the constant z=0.0 plane corresponding to the model photosphere. All variables are colocated on a cell centered grid after being averaged to that location, as necessary. Simulations were performed using versions 2.5 (GT) and 2.10 (DD) of the LaRe3D MHD code
