Abstract

La teoría política contemporánea ha dedicado una gran atención al fenómeno de la justicia analizando cuál es su posible naturaleza, sus requisitos básicos, sus bondades normativas y sus posibles condiciones de aplicación. Sin embargo, lo cierto es que la mayor parte de los distintos enfoques existentes suelen estar orientados a observar la idea de la justicia como un valor más bien estático, visto de manera espacial, sin prestar suficiente importancia a sus dimensiones temporales y sus implicaciones diacrónicas. Aunque el valor del tiempo no siempre ha estado presente en las teorías de la justicia de forma explícita, como sí ocurre en la obra de pensadores como Reinhardt Koselleck o Hartmut Rosa, lo cierto es que toda teoría de la justicia lleva implícita siempre una cierta concepción del tiempo. El objetivo de este texto será mostrar cuáles son los argumentos implícitos que, sobre la cuestión del tiempo, sobrevuelan sobre algunas de las teorías políticas más relevantes de nuestro tiempo, tales como (i) la diferencia entre el tiempo cronológico y el tiempo kairótico de la justicia; (ii) la diferencia entre la idea de justicia retrospectiva y de justicia prospectiva; (iii) la existencia de ideas de tiempo y justicia universales o diferentes según comunidades o (iv) la relación entre justicia, tiempo y acción. Para ello, nos centraremos principalmente en la obra de cuatro autores y autoras –Hannah Arendt, John Rawls, Michael Walzer e Iris Marion Young- que ofrecen un abanico suficientemente amplio y variado para poder valorar los distintos dilemas en juego.
