Abstract

Macromia cincta Rambur, 1842 Selected references: Macromia cincta Rambur, 1842;— Selys 1889: 468 (first record from Sumatra: Bangka);— Karsch 1891: 245 (first record from mainland Sumatra: North Sumatra). Specimens collected. M1a: 1 ♂ (RER20 _ MAC3; RER), 15 i 2020; 1 ♂ (RER20 _ MAC4; BRIN), 18 i 2020; 2 ♂♂ (RER20 _ MAC5, 7; UMRI), 19 i 2020; 1 ♂ (RER20 _ MAC6; BRIN), 19 i 2020; 1 ♀ (RER23 _ MAC3; RER), 12 ii 2023; 1 ♂ (RER23 _ MAC5; BRIN), 4 x 2023; 1 ♂ (RER23 _ MAC6; UMRI), 4 x 2023. Remarks. Recorded from Riau Province for the first time, abundant on Sungai Serkap. No specimen has been collected on Sungai Sangar but Macromia of the same size have been seen flying on that stream and are, in all probability, the same species.
