This deliverable presents the transceiver sub-systems serving optical wireless technology within the 6G-EWOC project. It discusses the use of vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-infrastructure and infrastructure-to-infrastructure modes that support data exchange over the air by means of optical communication technology, both as dedicated comms-only system or in combination with lighting or sensing. To support these modes, pencil- and wide-beam schemes are being employed. Besides a preliminary performance characterization for several optical wireless communication sub-systems, the deliverable further covers aspects such as mobility and robustness to weather. The developed prototypes for all wireless application modes are presented, including transmitters sourced by lasers and light emitting diodes, receivers based on highly sensitive avalanche photodetectors, together with beamformers for pencil-beam steering and alignmenttolerant and turbulence-mitigated signal reception, joint communication and sensing systems for light- and radio-based detection and ranging, as well as hybrid radio/optical wireless implementations.
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
