Nivel de conocimiento sobre mortalidad materna neonatal en gestantes, babahoyo, 2025

Abstract

La mortalidad materna y neonatal constituye un problema prioritario de salud pública en Ecuador. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar el nivel de conocimiento sobre las principales causas que la originan, aplicando una metodología descriptiva, observacional y cuantitativa en una muestra de 35 mujeres. Los resultados muestran que el 40% de las participantes posee un nivel alto de conocimiento sobre mortalidad materna, mientras que el 60% restante se ubica en niveles medio o bajo. En cuanto a la mortalidad neonatal, se evidenció una distribución polarizada: 37.14% con nivel alto, 37.14% con nivel bajo y 25.71% con nivel medio. Estos hallazgos reflejan brechas significativas en la información disponible, lo que puede limitar la identificación temprana de riesgos obstétricos y neonatales. Se concluye que fortalecer los programas de educación y sensibilización en salud materno-infantil es esencial para reducir la mortalidad evitable y cumplir con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible.
