Culex (Microculex) davisi Kumm, 1933 Culex (Microculex) davisi Kumm, 1933: 565 (♂ G, ♀, Pe, Le). Holotype in NHM. Type locality: São Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Lane 1953: 528 (♂ G, ♀, Pe, Le); Belkin et al. 1971: 26 (loc., ty. info); das Dores Cotrim & Galati 1977: 185 (♂ G, Le); Townsend 1990: 65 (ty. info.). Male genitalia (Fig. 16): Similar to Cx. intermedius. Tergum IX lobes protruding; distance between lobes similar to basal width; apex with 5 simple, straight setae more than twice the length of tergal lobes; discrete convex outline between lobes. Gonocoxite oblong; subapical lobe with 5 simple, sinuous setae, 2 longer than the others; 1 short seta in basal area of subapical lobe. Columnar process developed; 1 straight seta on its external surface; 2 straight setae with pointed at apices (a and b); seta a inserted basal to and smaller than seta b; ventromesal area with 4 fine, simple, wavy setae, 2 slightly longer. Gonostylus elongate, curved; convex ventral surface; broad, leaf-like gonostylar claw with pointed apex. Aedeagus with hook-like ventral process; dorsolateral and dorsal processes pointed. Aedeagal sclerite smaller than that of other species, broad, hook-like. Proctiger with sinuous tergum X connected to paraproct. Paraproct broad at base; crown with 8 pointed, slightly curved blades; basal plate broad. Distribution: Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay. Material examined: 8 ♂ G.
