Abstract

Indonesia sebagai negara kepulauan memiliki garis pantai yang sangat panjang dan banyak alur-pelayaran sungai. Kondisi geografis yang unik ini membawa tantangan tersendiri dalam hal keselamatan pelayaran, seperti cuaca ekstrem, arus laut yang kuat, dan potensi bencana alam. Pelaksanaan penyuluhan keselamatan pelayaran dilatarbelakangi oleh tingginya angka kecelakaan kapal sungai di perairan Indonesia yang sering terjadi belakangan ini, diduga diakibatkan oleh faktor human error. Hal ini menjadi perhatian serius pemerintah. Operator kapal sebagai pihak yang bertanggung jawab langsung terhadap keselamatan pelayaran, memiliki peran krusial dalam mencegah terjadinya kecelakaan kapal sungai tradisional. Penyuluhan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, wawasan dan kesadaran para operator kapal sungai tentang pentingnya keselamatan berlayar, serta memberikan pemahaman mengenai peraturan perundangan yang berlaku. Metode yang digunakan berupa pendekatan service learning (SL). Hasil pembahasan menunjukkan setelah dilakukan penyuluhan, pengetahuan dan pemahaman para operator kapal sungai tradisional meningkat dari nilai rata-rata 47,4 hasil pre test menjadi 76,6 hasil post test. artinya tingkat pengetahuan dan pemahaman para peserta meningkat dan menjadi lebih baik.
