The original Disentanglement of Phase Events (DoPE) framework characterized white dwarfs as "stalled engines" that "cool passively without active energy generation." This designation inherited assumptions from standard stellar models without critical examination. This revision corrects the framework: white dwarfs are DoPE survivors with active hydrogen fusion, smaller because contamination mass has been shed, and white because they are clean. The "cooling white dwarf" narrative violates basic thermodynamics—there exists no mechanism for a non-fusing object to maintain thousand-Kelvin temperature differentials against 2.7K background radiation for billions of years. A hot white dwarf is fusing; a non-fusing stellar remnant is a cold rock.
