Oral History Interview - Quico Atrio

Abstract

In this oral history interview, Quico Atrio reflects on his personal devotion to Santa Mariña de Augas Santas and his long-term involvement in the religious and communal life surrounding the sanctuary. He describes pilgrimage practices, processions, healing narratives associated with sacred water, the ritual use of the Hornos and other landscape features, and the central role of the parish priest Eduardo in fostering community cohesion. The interview provides rich ethnographic insight into lived religion, memory transmission, and ritual life in contemporary rural Galicia.
