Résumé Le sport, loin d’être un espace neutre ou simplement récréatif, constitue un prisme privilégié pour observer les dynamiques politiques, économiques et idéologiques du monde contemporain. Son évolution, marquée par la mondialisation, l’intensification médiatique et les dynamiques géopolitiques et diplomatiques, en fait désormais un instrument structurant de soft power et un vecteur de visibilité internationale. L’exemple de la Coupe du Monde 2022 au Qatar illustre avec acuité cette imbrication, révélant la capacité du sport à servir simultanément de scène diplomatique, de laboratoire identitaire et de terrain de négociation interculturelle. Dans ce contexte, le Maroc se trouve à un moment décisif. L’affirmation de son ambition sportive exige une articulation subtile entre respect des valeurs culturelles propres, ouverture aux normes universelles et engagement envers les principes d’inclusion, d’intégrité et de dialogue interculturel. La capacité du Royaume à intégrer les leçons tirées de l’expérience qatarienne, tout en élaborant un modèle d’accueil adapté à son identité, déterminera la cohérence et la portée de sa diplomatie sportive. L’analyse met en évidence que la réussite de sa stratégie repose moins sur la seule organisation d’événements d’envergure que sur sa capacité à articuler ouverture aux normes internationales, respect des spécificités culturelles et affirmation d’une gouvernance sportive éthique. Abstract The realm of sport, far from constituting a neutral or merely recreational sphere, provides a privileged lens through which to examine contemporary political, economic, and ideological dynamics. Its evolution, shaped by globalization, expanding media exposure, and intensifying geopolitical and diplomatic interactions, has transformed sport into a central instrument of soft power and international projection. The 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar offers a particularly salient illustration of this entanglement, highlighting sport’s capacity to operate simultaneously as a diplomatic arena, a site of identity construction, and a space for intercultural negotiation. In this context, Morocco stands at a pivotal juncture. The articulation of its sporting ambitions requires a careful balance between the preservation of cultural foundations, adherence to universal norms, and a sustained commitment to principles of inclusion, integrity, and intercultural dialogue. The analysis demonstrates that the effectiveness of this ambition depends less on the mere hosting of mega-events than on the Kingdom’s ability to reconcile international standards with cultural specificities and to promote an ethical and coherent model of sports governance.
