Abstract

Underwater footage documenting the first confirmed sighting of the invasive red lionfish (Pterois volitans) in the Parcel de Manuel Luís Marine State Park (State of Maranhão, Brazil). The footage was obtained on June 17, 2025, during a scientific dive as part of the project “Oceanographic Bases for the Conservation of the Parcel de Manuel Luís State Marine Park,” funded by FAPEMA.
