Features of cognitive-behavioral strategies of medical students with different levels of neuropsychic stress

Abstract

The special requirements are demanded of the cognitive, personal and behavioral resources of the students during the professional training of a doctor. Due to the lack of these resources, the students of a medical university may experience the difficulties associated with the independent implementation of the educational activities and a state of the neuropsychiatric tension. The purpose of the study is to identify the specifics of the cognitive-behavioral strategies of the medical university students with the different levels of the neuropsychiatric tension. 112 students studying at the various medical universities (Tomsk, Omsk, Tyumen) participated in the study, the sample was created by the random selection. To obtain the diagnostic data were used the following methods: the methodology of the assessing of the neuropsychiatric stress by T. A. Nemchina, the methodology for diagnosing of the cognitive-behavioral coping strategies (authors: I. G. Sizova, S. I. Filippchenkova). The students of a medical university with a low level of the neuropsychiatric stress tend to be optimistic and plan for the future actions. The students with the moderate neuropsychiatric stress can both plan for the future actions and avoid them. The students with the excessive neuropsychiatric stress tend to imagine the predominantly negative future and perceive the difficult events as some challenges that they do not strive to overcome effectively.
