
This work proposes that deterministic systems can still generate structured novelty given that Trace, treated as hx/Actuality/Prospective state-order (trace order), yields Variable Complementary Determinism (VCD) through which reactive fields and reactants propagate into functions and reactions, informational dynamics, behavior (choice and creation), and, without mind as a first-source assumption, coordinative awareness/intelligence as scalar, legible threshold expressions. TSEIDT — Trace Source Emergent Information Dynamics Theory — Release v0.1 In this theory, “time” is not a substance that passes or a flow that carries events along. What is fundamental is the ordering/indexing of state-change (trace order): successive resolution events yield retained state (hx) that conditions subsequent resolution. Clock-time and “time flow” are measurement overlays: repeated processes (oscillators, cycles, rhythms) provide a regular index that makes the ordered sequence of updates appear as duration. “Now” is not a span of duration; it is a resolution event. It is the instantaneous update interface where retention (hx), instantiation (Actuality), and horizon (Prospective) are jointly defined. In that single update, hx-flux (carried remainder of what-could-have-been), flux actuality (“is” + “is changing into”), and prospective-flux (“will be / could be” distribution) couple as one non-time-dependent event that conditions the next admissible continuation. VCD names determinism’s admissible continuation variability arising at the instantaneous resolution interface where retention (hx), instantiation (Actuality), and horizon (Prospective) are jointly defined under boundary/horizon (BH) constraints. Coherence is treated as determinism plus latitude (VCD), and the theory uses that source mechanism to track how the same propagative dynamics express reactive fields and reactants into functions and reactions, informational dynamics, behavior (choice and creation), and coordinative awareness/intelligence as scalar, legible threshold expressions—without treating mind as a first-source assumption. Trace is defined as the signature imprint of the total operative condition (participants + fields + precipitants). Proto-hx is retention as conserved condition, not just object history; determinism is fact-of-having-been (“was”) and as operative constraint in the present (“is what was”). 0>1 is a transition within not-be/be complement yielding an operative condition (unregistrable presence → metric presence); not creation from nothing and not mind-first choice. Actuality (a) is stated as a = (a_is + a->), where a_is is the operative “is” (deterministic constraint) and a-> is “is changing into” (flux, probabilistic under modulation). Prospectiveness (p) is weighted structured continuation space; includes “will be” as probabilistic weighting and “could be” as potential option-space. Field definition (locked): Field is emergent consistency of reactivity/property/consequence under coherence (not externally imposed). Co-presence → incompatibility → complementary coherence forcing → reactivity. Repeated reactivity → stabilized patterns → predictability in physics/inorganic chemistry, with the inserted step (important): inorganic/physics reactivity as elemental/molecular transformative emergence via stabilized “state classes” and “transform classes.” The bridge step is stated as: biochemistry is inorganic transformative emergence reorganized into multi-layer braids with conditional modulation (behavior becomes visible). The threshold ladder is stated as behavior → choice → creativity → intelligence, with: Behavior (proto-intelligence) = actuation of informational dynamics as coordinated selectivity under constraint (condition-sensitive modulation). Choice = recognition + evaluation + selection as go/no-go branching, modulated by variable-constraint dynamics and biased by anticipated coherent probable effects. Creativity = extension of latitude: prospective go/no-go branching into not-yet-existent but coherent-probable continuations; once actuated, these become deterministic availability for subsequent choice. Intelligence = prospective multi-coherent variable integration: selectivity + choice + coherent novelty under processed retrospective, actual, and prospective dynamics, yielding modulative and productive effectuation (humans + AI as substrates). Humans and AI are presented as “same engine, different substrates,” with: shared engine—trace-braid continuity becomes legible when patterns are stable/re-identifiable/usable; modulation shapes continuation; thresholds yield choice and creativity.
