ABSTRACTRegional economic development requires the identification of leadingsectors with high competitiveness to encourage sustainable economicgrowth. Bandung City, as one of the centers of economic activity in WestJava Province, has an economic structure that continues to undergotransformation, especially in the service sector. This study aims toanalyze the sectoral competitiveness of Bandung City's Gross RegionalDomestic Product (GRDP) in the West Java Provincial economy during the2020-2024 period and to identify leading and prospective sectors. Themethods used in this study are the Location Quotient (LQ), DynamicLocation Quotient (DLQ), and shift share analysis approaches using GRDPdata by business sector. The results show that Bandung City's economicstructure is dominated by the tertiary sector, particularly theinformation and communication and education services sectors, whichhave comparative advantages as well as prospective growth. Thewholesale and retail trade, manufacturing, and construction sectors alsoplay a role as basic sectors and demonstrate competitive advantages, although some have experienced a relative growth slowdown. Thetransportation and warehousing and health services sectors areclassified as prospective non-basic sectors, while the primary sector hasa limited role and is less prospective. These findings offer importantimplications for local governments in formulating economicdevelopment policies focused on strengthening the knowledge- andtechnology-based modern services sector. Future research isrecommended to combine other analytical methods and use a longerobservation period to obtain a more comprehensive picture of sectoralcompetitiveness. Keywords: Sectoral Competitiveness, GRDP, and Regional Economy.
