
This article provides a sociological analysis of Japanese culture andvalues, focusing on the mechanisms through which cultural norms shape socialbehavior, cohesion, and institutional stability. Drawing on classical andcontemporary sociological theories, including functionalism, symbolicinteractionism, and conflict theory, the study examines key cultural concepts suchas social harmony (wa), collectivism, hierarchy, discipline, and group-orientedidentity. The article also explores the impact of modernization and globalization ontraditional Japanese values, highlighting emerging social tensions andtransformations. The findings suggest that while Japanese society is undergoingsignificant change, its core cultural values continue to play a crucial role inmaintaining social order and collective responsibility
