Medical Education Basics: A Judgement-Centred Handbook for Medical Teachers

Medical Education Basics: A Judgement-Centred Handbook for Medical Teachers

Abstract

Medical Education Basics: A Judgement-Centred Handbook for Medical Teachers is a reflective, interpretive text that examines the role of professional judgement in teaching, assessment, and curriculum practice within medical education. Rather than offering prescriptive templates or procedural checklists, the book foregrounds alignment, responsibility, and contextual decision-making as core elements of educational practice. It bridges theoretical discussions in medical education with the practical realities faced by faculty working within competency-based curricula and institutional constraints. Designed primarily for medical teachers and faculty involved in curriculum implementation, the handbook emphasises coherence, intellectual honesty, and careful calibration over formulaic approaches. The work is published under a Creative Commons (CC-BY-NC-SA) licence to support open academic engagement and professional reflection.
