
In this study, the beekeeping potential of Yenice district in Karabük province, which hosts one of Turkey’s largest and most unique block forest areas, as well as the importance and future prospects of Yenice Linden Honey, were evaluated. Beekeeping is a strategic agricultural activity not only due to its economic contribution but also because of its role in ecosystem services and the conservation of biological diversity. Owing to its rich forest flora, high plant diversity, and microclimatic characteristics, Yenice district has a significant potential for monofloral honey production. The widespread linden species (Tilia spp.) in the region stand out with their high nectar yields and distinctive aromas, imparting unique sensory and biochemical properties to the honey produced. Yenice Linden Honey differs from other monofloral honeys due to its light color, refreshing aroma, and functional properties. Moreover, its registration as a geographical indication by the European Union enhances the product’s international recognition and added value. In this context, the protection of Yenice Linden Honey, its scientific support, and the strengthening of branding processes are considered important in terms of both regional development and the national economy.
