
The transition between shifts in safety-critical industrial environments represents a significant vulnerability in operational continuity. Historically, communication failures during these intervals have contributed to major disasters. This paper proposes a digital Shift Handover Logging System built on the MERN stack. By transforming shift handover from a passive diary entry into an active, verified, and immutable safety protocol, the system addresses the ”Information Gap” through mandatory validation, non-repudiation audit trails, and a quantitative Handover Effectiveness Index (HEI). Experimental results demonstrate a 94.4% reduction in Mean Time to Report (MTTR) and a significant increase in data accuracy compared to traditional paper-based systems. The proposed architecture incorporates real-time notifications, hierarchical access controls, and predictive analytics to enhance situational awareness during critical transitions.
