Appendix ENT — Limit Structures in Information Theory and Entropy

Abstract

Appendix ENT records a structural boundary log of where information theory and entropy remain fully operational—and where their presuppositions diverge from the observational structure assumed in Dualbind. This text does not introduce a new theoretical system, does not use information theory to justify Dualbind, and does not attempt to integrate, connect, or reduce the two frameworks. Its aim is to make explicit the domain in which their scopes do not coincide. The discussion is organized around: the formal character of entropy in Shannon-style information theory; the non-identity of information and meaning; the treatment of the observing subject as an external condition; and the scope of the principle of maximum entropy as a method of selection rather than a definition of truth or reality. Accordingly, Dualbind does not focus on the magnitude of information or optimal coding, but on where meaning-operations are halted, retained, or exposed—that is, the boundary conditions under which meaning becomes inoperable. The conclusion is intentionally non-conclusive: the difference is not a conflict, but a boundary condition where the two scopes do not coincide. Appendix ENT は、シャノン情報理論とエントロピー概念が有効に機能する領域と、その前提が Dualbind の観測構造とどこでずれるかを、構造的境界ログとして差分記録する。 本稿は、新たな理論体系を導入しない / 情報理論によって Dualbind を正当化しない / 両者を統合・接続・還元しない。目的は、両者が競合するか否かではなく、射程が一致しない領域を明示することにある。 扱う要点は、情報理論におけるエントロピーの形式的性格、情報と意味の非同一性、観測主体を外部条件として扱う前提、そしてエントロピー最大化原理が「真理」ではなく選択手続きとして作用する射程である。 このため Dualbind において問題となるのは、情報量の大小や最適符号化ではなく、意味操作がどこで停止・保持・露呈されるかである。結論は結論的非結論として固定される──差分は競合ではなく、射程が一致しない境界条件である。 連絡先:laboratory@dualbind.comライセンス:CC BY 4.0
