Oral History Interview - Marina García Gavilan

Abstract

Oral testimony by Marina García Gavilan, recounting her family's migration history, her childhood in Bilbao, and her adaptation to life in Santa Mariña de Augas Santas from 1981 onward. She explores matrilineal devotion to Santa Mariña, community rituals, protective beliefs, memories of the feast day, miraculous soil and water, and the archaeological layers of Armea. The interview highlights her ongoing commitment to heritage preservation and the cultural vitality of the women who sustained the cult across generations.
