PATRIARCADO, HETERONORMATIVIDADE E LGBTFOBIA NAS NARRATIVAS DAS REDES SOCIAIS

Abstract

Patriarcado. Heteronormatividade. LGBTfobia. Narrativas. ABSTRACT: This article reflects on how patriarchy and heteronormativity relate to the narratives constructed around social networks in our society, specifically analyzing two recent episodes: the betrayal of soccer player Neymar and the act of transphobia by singer Bruno (of the duo Bruno & Marrone), relying especially on the concepts of gender, sexism, and power. The qualitative research was developed through an integrative literature review and a mapping of social media. The main findings suggest that the narratives constructed and disseminated within social networks function as a portrait of our society, and that the mechanisms that generate prejudice and inequality in life outside of social media are perpetuated in the digital space. Keywords: Social Networks. Patriarchy. Heteronormativity. LGBTphobia. Narratives.
