Cercamientos, despojo y resistencias: la basura como territorio en disputa en la ciudad de Mexicali

Abstract

En el contexto actual de riesgos socioambientales globales como el cambio climático, la basura, como bien común y espacio en disputa, forma parte de los nuevos procesos de despojo, explotación y cercamientos de la comunidad de recicladores situados en la ciudad fronteriza de Mexicali. Este documento pretende visibilizar sus luchas y resistencias a través de prácticas democratizadoras que emergen desde abajo, a falta de una democracia más horizontal, que proteja sus derechos, esta comunidad de recicladores y recicladoras se organizan, dialogan y participan activamente ya que, al defender los derechos, se construye una democracia más fuerte e inclusiva, manifestándose a través de resistencias donde se recuperan saberes y conocimientos de sus lugares originarios, que les han permitido a través de estrategias creativas reconstruirse como grupo. El trabajo se realizó mediante la investigación-acción, dentro de un proceso de planificación, acción, observación y reflexión, utilizando el enfoque de la Ecología Política Latinoamericana.
