Actitudes hacia la vacuna antigripal en una población urbana mayor de 60 años

Abstract

Objetivo. Conocer cuáles son las razones por las que la población mayor de 60 años decide vacunarse contra la gripe o no.Método. Estudio transversal descriptivo mediante encuesta telefónica a usuarios mayores de 60 años, residentes en las áreassanitarias 2G-2J (Dreta de l’Eixample) de Barcelona ciudad. De forma aleatoria se seleccionaron 1.700 historias clínicas depacientes > 60 años, de entre los cuales se realizaron 291 encuestas.Resultados. El 63,63% (119; intervalo de confianza [IC] del 95%, 57,1-70,1) de los encuestados vacunados afirma que quien leinformó sobre la existencia de la vacunación antigripal (VAG) fue su médico de familia del centro de atención primaria (CAP),seguido de la enfermera del CAP (52; 27,80%; IC del 95%, 21,8-33,8) y los medios de comunicación (41; 21,92%; IC del 95%,16,9-26,9). La principal razón que los encuestados refirieron para recibir la VAG en 2005 fue la protección de su salud (148;79,14%; IC del 95%, 73,64-84,64), seguido de la petición médica (49; 26,20%; IC del 95%, 20,25-32,15). Entre los novacunados el 42,30% (44; IC del 95%, 33,97-52,43) indicó que “no se resfrían”, mientras que el 22,15% (23; IC del 95%, 14,41-29,89) afirmó que no se vacunan ya que “nunca cojo la gripe”.Conclusiones. La principal razón que les llevó a recibir la VAG fue proteger la propia salud. Entre los encuestados no vacunados sedetectaron errores de concepto por lo que se demuestra la necesidad de estrategias educativas eficaces que hagan aumentar lastasas de VAG. El médico continúa siendo, para la mayoría de los participantes, la fuente principal de información sobre la VAG. Estosugiere que enfermería todavía tiene trabajo por hacer para divulgar su cartera de servicios.
