
The ROCEEH Out of Africa Database (ROAD) provides data for research on human prehistory and paleoenvironments, spanning from 3,000,000 to 20,000 years BP and covering Africa and Eurasia. It includes data from multiple disciplines, such as archaeology, paleoanthropology, paleoenvironmental studies, and geography. The database is curated by the research center The Role of Culture in Early Expansions of Humans (ROCEEH) and funded by the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (Germany). The archived dataset represents a direct copy of the original PostgreSQL database, capturing its state as of the end of 2025.
