This Policy Brief is addressed to policymakers, organisational leaders, and research ethics and research integrity (RE/RI) bodies. It recognises the role of leadership and organisational culture in fostering RE/RI but also addresses the broader research ecosystem and its national and international regulators, including those responsible for performance evaluation andresearcher assessment. A culture of integrity must be supported, and this can be achieved through a proactive approach to RE/RI that involves all actors across the research ecosystem.
