Not in This Lifetime(science fiction work of magical realism_Chapters 1-10)

Authors: Zhang, Yan;

Not in This Lifetime(science fiction work of magical realism_Chapters 1-10)

Abstract

This is a scene prototype text tailored for virtual reality and film creation(Chapters 1-10), which is independently crafted by the author who holds complete copyright ownership. This work was created during the author’s undergraduate studies (circa 2006), with a total word count of approximately 800,000 words (the portion currently uploaded and made public aligns with the progress of the author’s academic papers and serves as supporting material; subsequent chapters will be added incrementally as the research advances. The entire work is written in Chinese). Initially positioned as an integration of magical realism and soft science fiction, this work draws on the author’s real-life experiences in the physical world, employing science fiction as a vehicle for metaphor and hyperbole. It adopts a magical realist style to depict the sweeping urban transformations and local cultural landscapes of North China, while constructing a grand worldview and vivid metaverse scenarios. Subsequently, during the author’s master’s and doctoral studies, the fictional scenes and installations in this work served as a conceptual foundation for the development of corresponding virtual reality (VR) projects, with related findings published in papers indexed by EI and SCI. Moving forward, the author will continue to conduct a series of research endeavors—focused on the integration of science fiction with VR, aesthetic computing, intelligent film and television production, and animation/games—grounded in this literary work. This work is uploaded to the database to facilitate citations in relevant academic publications and is intended for academic research and educational purposes. It is important to note that the author holds the full copyright and all associated intellectual property rights to this work. Any citation or use of this work must be authorized by contacting the author (E-mail: ryanchang_cuc@yeah.net).
